Fun New Patterns

You may have seen these in your Quilters Warehouse weekly newsletter but in case you missed them here they are again because they are really great patterns!  What do you mean you don’t get the newsletter?!  Sign up now! 

This gorgeous Bluebird is, believe it or not, made with all straight seam piecing.  Pattern has a detailed chart showing colors and order of seams.   You’ll finish with a beautiful wall hanging.

If you want to add to your pincushion collection (and who doesn’t?) try this trio of Pinheads Moose & Bear.    They are quick and easy to make and soon they’ll be keeping you company in your sewing room.


The Eye Catcher, otherwise known as the Spectacle Receptacle, with keep your glasses handy and safe.  Make it a habit to drop your glasses in here whenever you take them off and you won’t waste time looking for them again.  Also perfect for your rotary cutter.

Never used Prairie Points in a project?  Here’s your chance to start on a small scale.  Prairie Point Kitchen Towels are made by embellishing purchased towels.  They’ll look great in your kitchen and you’ll add a new technique to your quilting repertoire.

Appliqued Bibs are made from one terry layer and one layer of cotton or flannel. Choose from velcro closures or snaps. There are 20 different applique designs and two different size bibs: infant and toddler. You’ll use this pattern over and over.

Little Houses On A Hillside is a lap sized quilt. Made with an original block on a background of a half square triangle to represent the hillside.

This Morning Star wall-hanging will add a touch of Spring to your home year ’round.  The flowers are made of wool and embellished with beads.

The Take-It-All Tote will hold EVERYTHING!  It measures 30″ x 20″ and has three different motifs from which to choose for the center square.  The other side of the bag has a variation of the motif.  Best of all, the pattern is all rotary cut with NO templates.

Do you take your iron to class or retreats?  This Hot Iron Carrier / Ironing Mat does double duty and is easy to make.  It’s so handy to not have to wait for your iron to cool before you pack it up.

Monday Madness – From Black & White to A Riot of Color

If you want a striking, dramatic quilt you just might find one (or a dozen!) in Black & White Quilts by Kay M. Capps Cross.   Whether you are a beginner, an old pro, or somewhere in the middle, this book will have a project for you.  There are 12 designs and along with the instructions there are tips for adding a little extra sprakle.

Hot Pot Kitchen Set has instructions for flannel chenille “hot stuff”.   Give your kitchen a lift with new colorful coasters, pot holders and hot pad.  These are great for gifts too.  A little bonus: purchase of the pattern also entitles you to make 2 dozen items a year to sell at craft fairs.

This stained glass  Hummingbird by Edna Trunt will hold still long enough for you to enjoy his beauty.  Finishes at 22″ x 20″.

 

Berries And Cream is a classic red & white quilt inspired by French Enamelware.  Finishing at 92″ it has a collection of red prints paired with muslim.

A traditional feathered star has been stretched to make this quilt perfect for your bed.  North By North by Vicky Lawrence has instructions for piecing in quarter sections for easier construction.
 

Use your scraps to make these Quilted Coins.  Little coin purses (3″ x 3.5″) close with velcro.  Perfect for little gifts.  If you’re giving someone a quilt wouldn’t it be fun to use the leftovers so they have this little piece of the quilt to carry around with them?

Crimson Rambler can’t help but catch your eye.  Bright prints are used for pineapple blocks that are made with perfect points and NO paper piecing!  Two options are given for the border – flowers or flying geese.

Black Cat Creations – A Variety Of Colorful Patterns

Whether it’s an embroidery design, a quilt, or a purse, you can be sure it will be colorful if it’s a Black Cat Creation.

Chicken For Dinner has easy applique that can be done by hand or machine.  With cute chickens, eggs and red checkered borders, this quilt would certainly brighten a kitchen or dining room.

Charmed is charmingly simple!  Grab your bright colorful scraps and you’ll put this fun 48″ X 64″ quilt together lickety-split.

I fell in love with Periwinkle Lane and had to start this project.  Block are colored with ordinary crayons, heat set, and then embroidered.  The houses are so colorful and cheery. 

Purchase a block at a time or go for the complete set at once – your choice – and sharpen those crayons!  Quilting is always a mood lifter but these blocks will work overtime cheering you up.  How can you not feel good looking at, or working on, these blocks?!

Cuddly soft playful pets made with Minky fabric. These are the latest Hankie Blankie Pets . . . a frog, bunny & duck. Easy to make and helpful hints are included for stitching on Minky.

An easy rectangle block is all that’s needed to make this Gathering of Hearts.  Use florals for a soft, water color look.   For a totally different look try bright, bold fabrics.

Sand Dollars from Bloom Creek has no blocks to piece or match. Borders and appliqued sand dollars make this beautiful quilt. Instructions are easy to follow and even a beginner should have success with this project.

Would you believe this quilt is made with just one block repeated with different fabrics?!  Block Of Many Colors I is great for using up your scraps.   There are several sizes included in the pattern.  And if you like this pattern there are two more like it.

 

The Angel Patrol will watch over you because they know that “Some days are tougher than others”.   Isn’t that the truth?!

Sewing rooms are magical . . . did you know you can make a Fruit Cake from Layer Cakes?!  Try that in your kitchen!  Large half square triangles surrounded by praire points really showcase a fabric line.  A beginner could easily make this twin size quilt.
