Monday Madness – anything goes!  An eclectic selection of patterns & projects . . . .

If you want a striking, dramatic quilt you just might find one (or a dozen!) in Black & White Quilts by Kay M. Capps Cross.   Whether you are a beginner, an old pro, or somewhere in the middle, this book will have a project for you.  There are 12 designs and along with the instructions there are tips for adding a little extra sprakle.

Hot Pot Kitchen Set has instructions for flannel chenille “hot stuff”.   Give your kitchen a lift with new colorful coasters, pot holders and hot pad.  These are great for gifts too.  A little bonus: purchase of the pattern also entitles you to make 2 dozen items a year to sell at craft fairs.

This stained glass  Hummingbird by Edna Trunt will hold still long enough for you to enjoy his beauty.  Finishes at 22″ x 20″.

Berries And Cream is a classic red & white quilt inspired by French Enamelware.  Finishing at 92″ it has a collection of red prints paired with muslim.

A traditional feathered star has been stretched to make this quilt perfect for your bed.  North By North by Vicky Lawrence has instructions for piecing in quarter sections for easier construction.

Use your scraps to make these Quilted Coins.  Little coin purses (3″ x 3.5″) close with velcro.  Perfect for little gifts.  If you’re giving someone a quilt wouldn’t it be fun to use the leftovers so they have this little piece of the quilt to carry around with them?

Crimson Rambler can’t help but catch your eye.  Bright prints are used for pineapple blocks that are made with perfect points and NO paper piecing!  Two options are given for the border – flowers or flying geese.

Black Cat Creations – A Variety Of Colorful Patterns

Whether it’s an embroidery design, a quilt, or a purse, you can be sure it will be colorful if it’s a Black Cat Creation.

These little Sittin’ Pretty placemats are perfect for using charm packs.  Show off your favorite newest fabric line.

I fell in love with Periwinkle Lane and had to start this project.  Block are colored with ordinary crayons, heat set, and then embroidered.  The houses are so colorful and cheery.

Purchase a block at a time or go for the complete set at once – your choice – and sharpen those crayons!  Quilting is always a mood lifter but these blocks will work overtime cheering you up.  How can you not feel good looking at, or working on, these blocks?!

And if you get hooked on coloring blocks you could try Plaid Cats which is, believe it or not, more colorful!

Sewing rooms are magical . . . did you know you can make a Fruit Cake from Layer Cakes?!  Try that in your kitchen!  Large half square triangles surrounded by praire points really showcase a fabric line.  A beginner could easily make this twin size quilt.

American Jane Quilt Patterns

Have you seen the new quilt from American Jane?  Now And Later is a pattern that includes instructions for a baby quilt that finishes at 42″ x 62″ and a twin size quilt for an older sibling or for “later”.  This is the newest pattern by Sandy Klop.  If you like this one, you are in luck!  American Jane has lots more patterns!

Here’s another one made with just lots of squares.  Granny Square finishes at 57″ square.   This one is easier than it looks.  It’ll go together easily with strip piecing.

Not enough time for a Trip Around The World? Then try Day Trip Quilt.  Choose your favorite color scheme and start sewing.  Blocks are 20″ and are pieced with 2 1/2″ strips.  You’ll make a stunning queen size quilt before you know it.

Several more patterns have a square as the main piece, but Sandy has designed several applique patterns.

Birds and Boughs has a simple, classic look.  Six pieced blocks border a center applique potted tree with two birds.   Hearts, vines, boughs, flowers and birds make up the top and bottom border.  Instructions are in color.

All Nature Sings Quilt has a more mod / modern look. This is a bright, fun, colorful quilt that seems to shout Spring! Finishes at 50″ square.

Folk Art Christmas is a vibrant, colorful quilt that can be your first step in holiday decorating.  A perfect wall hanging (55″ x 57″) to welcome family and friends into your home for the holidays.

This was just a sampling – check out all the rest of American Jane  quilt patterns.  Then check out rhe rest of the quilt patterns at Quilters Warehouse.
