New Designer – Tiger Lily Press
Have you checked out the newest Designer at Quilters Warehouse? Nicole Chambers-Kaya of Tiger Lily Press has a variety of designs from table runners to totes to full size quilts.
Do you have some favorite fabric that you really want to use but just don’t want to cut it up? Kabuki is the perfect table topper pattern to showcase those favorites. It’s fairly easy and will go together quickly. There are also instructions for place mats.
Autumn Splendor is a table runner with a more intricate looking design. Large prints would work well for the center of the blocks. The colors you choose for the rest of the fabrics will bring the project to life. Don’t limit yourself to Autumn…. you could make one to suit each season.
And now for something completely different: Ba-Da-Bing…Ba-Da-Boom…It’s a Basket. You’ll find so many uses for these baskets. Make any size you want. And any theme you want. Use as a gift or as gift wrap! Organize your sewing room. Dress up a potted plant. Put one on your dresser for makeup or nail polish bottles. How about one near your front door for keys?
Simple Quilts is a book with step by step instructions for 20 quilts. They range in size from lap size to queen size. Each quilt is shown in two color ways. If you are new to quilting you will learn construction techniques and have some stunning quilts to show for your efforts.
Tiger Lily Press has lots more projects so browse away, and then browse through the rest of the quilt patterns at Quilters Warehouse. And don’t forget – only a few more days to take advantage of the special pricing on the 6500P Memory Craft Janome Sewing Machine.
I am interested in a quilt by Nocole Chambers Kaya that dates back to 1998. It was a quilt of the month called Family Treasures in yellows and blues. I would love to purchase the directions if they are still available. I hope you can help. Sue Watt
Sue, we heard from the designer and Family Treasures is no longer available but she is planning on revamping the blocks (and others) into a new sampler.
The availability date of the new quilt has not yet been announced. Keep watching the blog as we’ll be sure to announce the new sampler when it’s ready!
Thank you for the info on Nicole Chambers quilt, I will keep my eyes open for her new version of family treasures. Sue
I just wanted to thank Nicole Chambers for her fantastic quilt directions. I purchased her As Time Goes By pattern on a quilt shop hop in Central Washington in 2007. It is a quilt sampler that progresses logically from one design to the next. Her instructions and tips are amazing. I rarely make more than one quilt from a pattern but hers is an exception. I have struggled through many quilt patterns with poor directions or wrong directions. This one is always delightful. I can’t picture how each square will turn out in my fabrics until it is done, so each block is like opening a package at Christmas. I think this one is my favorite. Then I make the next one and think, No this one is my favorite…and so on. Thank you so much! I would be happy to purchase any design with your name on it!
