Pam’s Piece by Piece Traditional Quilt Patterns

If you love traditional quilts then Pam’s Piece by Piece Patterns are right for you.  Pam McMahon has been a quilter and teacher for many years. Her passion for the art led her to create her own quilt designs, to teach them, and write the patterns for them.  Her patterns contain clear, detailed instructions, and many of them are suitable for a confident beginner.

Prairie Moon is a combination of 8 pointed star blocks and Shoofly blocks.  Alternating the blocks in the quilt layout gives the allusion of curves and circles (moons), similiar to those seen in a Storm At Sea quilt, but a bit more subtly.

March to Manassas

Strip pieced four patch blocks come together quickly to create March to Manassas.  This design would work with many different fabric styles - and each would change the whole feel of the quilt.  The small connecting squares that run over the entire quilt can be kept low key or use a strong contrasting color to really make that part of the design pop!

On A Whim quilt pattern

At first glance, you might think that each block in the On A Whim quilt is different, making it a sampler quilt.  Look closer – they are ALL the same block.  Swing in the Center is an ideal block for playing with different fabrics and fabric values.  Each change has the potential to change the entire look of the block.  FUN!

Feathered Star Medallion quilt pattern

You might want to be sure you have a few quilts under your belt before attempting the Feathered Star Medallion pattern.  Accurate piecing skills are a must for this one.  Extra work, but the results will be so worth it – a beautiful piece of art!
